Arched Window Shadowbox from Plywood

FULL STREAM | PART 9: FRANKEN-LIGHTNING DETECTOR

With our Young Frankenstein castle foam miniature complete and ready to get hit by lightning, we’re going to build out the shadow box in the shape of our arched cathedral window frame using plywood. It has to be just deep enough to hide wiring and electronics in the back and our foam miniature scene in the front but not jut out of the wall too far where people can accidentally bump into it when walking by.

Then we’ll put the shadow box aside and pick up where we left off with the outer window frame that we built and spackled a few streams ago. By dabbing a few extra coats of spackle, letting it dry and then spraying a matte white basecoat, it’s now ready for paint to make it look like it came out of a real medieval castle or gothic cathedral!
