Bob Ross-inspired Night Scene

FULL STREAM | PART 3: FRANKEN-LIGHTNING DETECTOR

Even a faux window needs some outside scenery to look out at so we’re going to attempt a Bob Ross evening scene with happy little trees and clouds! This will act as the backdrop to our lightning bolt that will light up when the AS3935 lightning detector senses an approaching storm.

Bob Ross used oil paints for his signature wet-on-wet technique but since I have a collection of acrylic paints, I’ll be using those. Although they didn’t blend as nicely, the final result turned out great for our project because my sky looked far more stormy. Like Bob Ross always said, “there are no mistakes, just happy little surprises” and we sure proved him right!
