Building the Grill Cart Frame

FULL STREAM | PART 1: SMOKEHOUSE BBQ GRILL CART

Summer is here and we’re celebrating our love all things grilled! Every grill, whether propane or coal, needs a grill cart sidekick so we’ll start by building the frame of our rolling DIY grill cart out of Douglas Fir 2x4s and 2x6s and then use cedar for the rest with main storage areas for a propane tank, utensils, spices and more.

This is a great beginning woodworking DIY project because all the materials are readily available at any home improvement store and we’ll be using pocket holes for the joints so you don’t need specialty tools or skills. Douglas Fir and Cedar are great for outdoor wood projects because they stand up to weather and rot and you can increase durability even more by coating the finished cart with exterior paint or stain.
