Easy Clay Model Dragon Skin Texture

This is the last of the dragon clay modeling series – like for reals this time! As my first clay sculpture, I’ve enjoyed the journey of taking what started out as an impulsive add-on to our plasma ball lamp project to something that may even steal the spotlight. Through the process I’ve come to value the time and attention to detail that professional sculptors put in to their pieces because every time I think I’m finished, I find a bare area I forgot to do!

Even a small clay modeling project can run away on you because you can always keep adding more and more details but at some point you have to draw the line and just stick it in the oven.
